Most game testing platforms give you a test, you do the test, you get paid. That's fine. But PlaytestQuest's Hero Program is something different — it's a pathway from casual playtesting to real, paid access to unreleased AA and AAA games.

What is the Hero Program?

The Hero Program is PlaytestQuest's premium testing tier. Heroes are a select group of verified, high-quality testers who get invited to private playtests for bigger games — titles from studios that need serious, structured feedback before launch.

As a Hero, you can expect:

• Early access to AA and AAA titles weeks or months before public release
• Cash rewards ranging from $30 to $300+ per test
• Direct involvement in shaping games before they reach the market
• Priority access to new opportunities as they open

How is it Different from Regular Quests?

Regular PlaytestQuest quests are open to everyone. You browse, join, play, and submit a review. You earn Fame points, which you redeem in the store.

Hero quests are invitation-based. You don't browse them — you're selected for them based on your track record. The games are bigger, the feedback sessions are more structured (sometimes including video interviews), and the compensation is cash, not just points.

How Do You Qualify?

There are three main requirements to apply:

1. Complete 5+ Quests on PlaytestQuest

You need a history on the platform. Applications without completed quests won't be considered — there's no way to evaluate your testing quality without prior reviews to assess.

2. Demonstrate Quality Feedback

The application isn't just a form — our team reviews your existing feedback for:

• Specificity: Do you describe issues in reproducible detail?
• Relevance: Is your feedback actionable for a developer?
• Consistency: Are you thorough across multiple reviews, or only occasionally good?

3. Match the Tester Profile

Hero quests are matched to testers based on their gaming background. A studio building a tactical RPG wants testers who play tactical RPGs. Your profile — genres, platforms, gaming hours — matters.

What Do Hero Tests Look Like?

Each Hero test varies by studio and game, but typically involves:

1. NDA signing — You agree not to share footage, screenshots, or details about the game
2. Game access — A key or build is provided for a specific platform
3. Structured testing — You play with specific goals or areas to evaluate
4. Feedback submission — A detailed form, and sometimes a recorded video session or live interview
5. Payment — Processed after feedback is approved

Sessions typically take 2–5 hours including the review, depending on the game.

How Much Do Heroes Earn?

Compensation depends on the scope of the test:

• Standard Hero test: $30–$75
• Extended playtest (3+ hours): $75–$150
• Full user research session with interview: $150–$300+

Tips for Getting Accepted

Write better reviews now. Before applying, go back and look at your existing feedback. Is it specific? Would a developer find it useful? If not, raise the bar on your next few quests.

Complete your profile. Make sure your genre preferences, platform, and gaming background are accurate and detailed. Matching is easier when we know who you are.

Be consistent. One great review followed by five mediocre ones won't get you in. Heroes are selected for reliability.

Apply even if you're not sure you're ready. The worst outcome is a "not yet" — and the feedback from a rejection will tell you exactly what to improve.
